Our first Kenya microlot of the year!  Kenyas landed a bit later this year, but the ones we have lined up are worth the wait!

This coffee comes to us from the Ngutu factory, which is operated by the Raikamba Farmers Cooperative Society (F.C.S.).  It owns seven factories in the area (on the Aberdare Mountains to the south of Mt. Kenya). Farmers in this area started to plant coffee in the early 1950s, and the co-op currently has 4,000 member farmers, about 1,200 of whom deliver to the Ngutu factory. The average farmer raises just 200 coffee trees on farms that are between 1/2–1 acre (or 0.2–0.4 hectare).

In the cup, look for deep flavors of peach, mulling spices, and grape jam with a soft, clementine acidity and a buttery body.  Delicious!

All coffees are available in whole bean only.

We roast and ship Monday through Thursday.  Orders placed by midnight will be roasted and shipped the next roast day.  Orders placed Thursdays or later will be rolled to the next Monday.
