We don’t have to tell you that it’s been a wild, wild year. This Thursday, March 18th marks one year since we closed our doors to indoor service. On that day, the coffee bar transitioned to curbside service with no idea what the pandemic would mean for us as a team or as a company. All we knew was that we wanted to continue doing what we do: roasting and serving delicious coffee while supporting our community and our team. We believe that when things get rough, the connections we make through coffee become more important than ever. So, we masked up and got ready to meet you safely at your car windows.
That’s where you all came in. You, our neighbors from the West Side and those who drive in from across town, lifted us up during a very trying time. Right away last March, you signed up for coffee subscriptions, ordered lattes in new ways (online & by phone!) and masked up along with us. You tipped so generously, and helped us support our furloughed staff by sending those tips directly to them while they waited to safely return to work.
Over the course of the year, we welcomed our full team back to work, opened our walk-up window, and enjoyed the beautiful summer and fall weather while serving outside. We celebrated the holidays with window displays & weekend specials, and we all bundled up for window service throughout the winter. Talking with you at the walk-up window, seeing your socially-distanced picnics on our lawn, and roasting & shipping subscriptions to you has brought us so much happiness during a year that has truly challenged us all in new and profound ways.
We want to thank you all immensely for being a part of our community over the last year. Here's to each of you and to a brighter year ahead!
